Linda sent us off this morning with bananas, cereal, and even the left over wine from last night. I really hope they are able to come and stay with us sometime so that we can return the hospitality.
The drive between Cromwell and Manapouri was another twisty turny road with more fabulous views. We didn't do much stopping and arrived at the Manapouri Lakeview Lodge at around 2:30. The weather here is a bit cooler and overcast as we expected being so close to the fjords. Resting in our room now, looking out at Lake Manapouri and the mountain view. We are getting only hints of what we can expect to see tomorrow on our overnight fjord cruise. We meet up with the boat a few km down the road. Later this afternoon we will trek into Te Anau and see what goes on there.
Well, Te Anau is like all the other small urban areas. Lots of shops and restaurants. We are so glad we are staying away from the fray. We did manage to pick up some provisions at the grocery store in Te Anau and then we scurried back to our little motel on the lake. Ordered a pizza and sat on our deck overlooking the mountains and water. After dinner, took a walk down by the lake and just took in the powerful views. We are both pretty excited about the overnight cruise tomorrow.

Mucho Gracias for taking me to Manpouri this morning. Haven't been able to read your blog much. We had to put our beloved Max to sleep last week. So gun-wrenching & sad. But you took me away from it all.
