Through our email, a friend notified us about another couple who have been to these parts and also set up a blog. Can't wait to read their blog. Just can't seem to get enough information. Right now Geoff and I are in the middle of reading "Come On Shore and We Will Kill You and Eat You" - a New Zealand story - (thank you Mary & John David). We read aloud by the fire and watch the snow fall while hearing stories and history of the Maoris. The book was written by a Bostonian who married a Maori - so amidst the "savagery" there is a love story of a kind. Looks like we will finish the narrative just in time to board the plane. We have also been gearing our movie viewing to the wonderful scenery of Lord of the Rings trilogy and a fabulous tale of the Maori - The Whale Rider (thank you Andrew for that suggestion).We welcome all advice and tips.

This will be great while you're on the road. I will be able to live vicariously through your travels--thanks. I expect a postcard (no one sends these any more) from an exquisite beach. Do you have my address?
